I wanted to thank you for your thoughts and prayers in this mission trip.  God anointed me in so many ways and more that has changed my life, also our relationship.  He showed me what the enemy did not want us to see. 

The life in Haiti is decaying everyday and the people along with it.  Through the whole trip not one thought of my problems crossed my mind, because it didn't amount to the problems Haiti has. It is not a month by month or day by day issue, but a moment by moment. Every turn there was something to face. God created a beautiful island with some of the most hospitable people I have ever met, and they still get bad remarks by the media. 

Please pray for the people of Haiti and the land.  And remember, here in this blessed country we live in we have the opportunities and sources to make a life, but in Haiti there are no opportunities or sources. So thank God everyday that "This IS the day the Lord has made, let us REJOICE and be glad in it."

(Words by Candice Brown who went on a short term mission trip to Mapou, La Gonave)

Taking this mission trip over to Mapou Village, La Gonave, Haiti was another great experience for me. I have been to Haiti three times, and each trip gave me a new perspective on how I view the world. Every time I come to Haiti, it gets easier and easier to forget about my material things- but value the essential things like electricity, running Hot water and ice cold anything!

I really enjoyed myself on this trip. I met new friends who spoke little English, so I had to step my Creole game up. It forced me to communicate better with the people living there. I loved taking those hikes up and down the mountains, and gazing out at the ocean. I also had a chance to watch for shooting stars. Haiti is definitely one place where I will always feel the need to come back to!
